While we’re fighting biofuels, we remember that we need to to promote solutions that aren’t business as usual. That means consuming less fossil fuel, (buy local, grow your own food) reducing our energy usage, get wind and solar energy wholly viable and on grid, and promote proven transportation alternatives – like plug-ins, public transportation and pedal power.

Biofuels are a much better option than fosil fuels, but it's still not good, and we can do much better.For example:
Sugar is bad, artificial sweeteners are much better but they are also very bad too. Although Biofuels are improving, it doesn't make it good enough. Foolish!

Biofuels raise food prices and add to the starvation problem. There are much better alternatives - solar, wind, geothermal, hydrogen, you name it.

I believe there is a place for biofuels in our society, however the feedstock and or the process in which the feedstock is produced must be better controlled. An interesting article from the April 11th, 2009 Economist reports a supporting theory of "biofools", but with further research there is also a case for continued production.
